Meet the maker
Hi! I’m Hollie, a ceramicist and designer-maker based in Lancashire, UK. I made colourful, functional home-ware that serves a purpose whilst spreading joy!
I first fell in love with ceramics when I was introduced to small batch production methods such as the traditional techniques of wheel-throwing, mold-making and slip-casting. After graduating in 2019, I set up my studio with the intention of offering pottery workshops alongside creating my pieces.
Recent Updates
in April this year I closed down my public studio in Preston.
My intention following a house move is to build a private garden studio, where I’ll also teach 1-1 wheel throwing.
I’m excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to share this with you all. Keep an eye out!
As I have done for the past few years, my workshops will remain to be taught solely in other various venues, such as Locke Hotels, Brewdog, Revolution and more.

2016
Runshaw Art and Design Foundation
The course that introduced me to ceramics!
For my FMP I created a marbled porcelain set using the technique of slip-casting from the first molds I made of my own. The models were thrown upside down on the wheel to then make a drop-out plaster mold from.

2017
NTU - Decorative Arts Year One
The first year of my degree was spent exploring new materials and processes, and I used a lot of this year to practice my throwing skills. I started up an Instagram page, explored with product photography and boom! My Etsy store was made!

2018
NTU Decorative Arts - Year Two
In this year we could narrow down specialist interests, I chose ceramics and surface textile design. I created porcelain light pendants from a model I turned on a plaster-lathe.

2019
NTU Decorative Arts - Year Three
For my final year I looked into creating ‘terrazzo’ patterns within clay. By making my own coloured grog which I added into casting slip, I created table lamps and vessels using colour stains. This was blummin’ hard work, but I’m glad I explored this process!
After graduating, I moved into my current studio and set up a Crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for start-up equipment!

2020
After a successful Crowdfunding campaign ended in Jan ‘20, I started offering private and group pottery classes. I took everything online when we were met with the pandemic - and used this to explore and re-evaluate my style and branding.
I released my ‘Loop’ vases which were so well received and took opened up custom orders at Christmas - they’ve been a fave since!

2021
After the restrictions eased, I started getting involved with in-person events again including pop-ups in numerous Urban Outfitters! I developed more design ranges and started selling my work wholesale - eek!
I re-launched the pottery studio in November for workshops with a launch weekend and taster classes.

2022
2022 was an exciting year! I was getting involved with events, had new designs in the horizon and even delivered the biggest trade order to an indie shop.
I hit an Insta milestone, 10K followers! I collaborated with various different brands too.
I started hosting a Monthly group workshop as well as private events.
